Indoor Golfing Takes Over Palm Beach County!
Think golf is only for sunny days and green fairways? Think again! Palm Beach County is gearing up for a golfing revolution that’s making the sport easier, more accessible, and downright fun! With three exciting indoor venues on the horizon, golf enthusiasts and novice players alike are about to experience a brand new way to enjoy the game.
Welcome to the Future of Golfing
Let’s talk tech! These indoor venues promise cutting-edge gadgets that’ll make your golfing experience a blast. Imagine simulated screens measuring your hitting distance and floor plates calculating your club swing speed! But that’s not all! Picture lasers helping you master your chip shots and putts, plus devices that tell you which golf ball is perfect for your play style.
And for those wanting to escape to beautiful courses without leaving the building, you’ll be able to play virtual rounds at iconic places like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. Who wouldn’t want that?
A Family Affair
The dynamic twin brothers from Jupiter, Steven and David Kittrell, are spearheading this golfing venture by opening X-Golf in West Palm Beach next month. It’s not just any ordinary golfing spot; it’s a full-blown entertainment center! Expect restaurants, bars, ping-pong tables, live music, and rows of TVs to keep the party going. “We’re making the game less intimidating. We want people to enjoy golf as entertainment that does not have to take four hours,” said Steven Kittrell, 38. This will be X-Golf’s debut in Florida, joining about 150 centers nationwide.
But if you’re a die-hard golfer craving more serious play, not to worry! The new venue in Delray Beach will dive deep into golf tech while keeping entertainment to a minimum—perfect for those who want to focus solely on their swing.
Have a Blast at the Drive Shack
Many locals might already be familiar with Drive Shack, the edgy golf entertainment complex by Palm Beach International Airport that opened its doors back in 2019. It features a three-level space with 96 golf bays. Grab a drink, enjoy some food, and swat away at golf balls while you soak in the vibrant atmosphere that includes good music and even better company.
However, the Kittrell brothers promise to step things up a notch with a simulated driving range and private rooms loaded with golf simulators. Plus, they plan on hosting cash prize competitions and golf leagues to bring out everyone’s competitive side. “We want to be a casual hangout for non-golfers while being a place for serious golfers to fine-tune their game,” shared Steven.
Golf Lessons and More
In case you didn’t get enough about golf tech, let’s take a quick detour to the Delray Beach Indoor Golf Center, which is set to open its doors on July 27. Beyond just simulating rounds at over 1,000 golf courses worldwide, there’s a focus on personalized coaching! Laser projections will assist golfers with their swings, and a thoughtful selection of golf balls tailored to individual performances sets this place apart.
“Different balls perform better at different swing speeds. Golfers using the right ball makes a huge difference in their game,” said Matt Ball, the chief executive officer of the center.
Get Ready for Match Play!
And let’s not forget the upcoming TGL indoor golf arena, led by superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy! This impressive structure on the Palm Beach State College campus is set to launch in January 2025. After some mishaps with windstorms and power outages that scrapped the original inflatable dome plans, construction has recently picked up and is on track to host thrilling matches.
All in all, with stellar technology and fun activities, pale-green golf is about to get a vibrant makeover in Palm Beach County. So whether you’re a seasoned pro or just dipping your toes into the golfing waters, there’s something for everyone. Get ready to swing into action!
