Exciting Times Ahead for St. Pete: GolfSuites City Club Opening Soon!

Get ready, St. Petersburg! There’s a new buzz in town, and it’s all about swinging clubs and fine dining. An upscale indoor golf lounge, GolfSuites City Club, is set to take over the historic Tramor Cafeteria building at 123 4th Street South, formerly home to the popular Hofbrauhaus. This iconic building has been around since 1929 and is a true gem in downtown St. Pete, making it the perfect backdrop for this new venture.

About GolfSuites City Club

GolfSuites City Club, the brainchild of the Florida-based GolfSuites, Inc., is taking things to a whole new level. The venue will stretch over an impressive 17,000 square feet and boasts a seating capacity for more than 300 guests. Jerry Ellenburg, the CEO of GolfSuites, expressed his excitement by saying, “With GolfSuites City Club, we are bringing the country club into the city.” What’s more, the City Club will combine the thrill of golf with the delight of dining.

Guests can anticipate an exciting menu featuring everything from scallops to prime rib! The simulators and the restaurant will complement each other perfectly, creating a unique experience unlike anything else in the area.

Join the Club

GolfSuites is partially membership-based, meaning members will have that extra special priority when it comes to making reservations at both the simulators and the restaurant. If you’re interested in membership, hold onto your hats! There’s a membership office set to open downtown soon, where you can meet with Membership Director Megan Storm and check out the top-notch simulator technology.

What to Expect

GolfSuites City Club is gearing up to open in mid-2024, and there’s a ton of excitement about its features. Think state-of-the-art golf simulators and an upscale dining area for the full experience! Morning Pro sessions will be available from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. for all you early risers looking to perfect your swing. After recharging with a delicious lunch, the restaurant will serve dinner and drinks until 2 a.m. for some late-night fun.

Star Power on Board

This venture has attracted some impressive backing. Scott McCurry, who previously helped TopGolf grow exponentially, is now the President and COO of GolfSuites. Plus, Kevin Harrington—that’s right, the original shark from “Shark Tank”—is now on board as a Board Director and Brand Ambassador for the GolfSuites City Club. And let’s not forget the legendary golf instructor, David Leadbetter, who will ensure that the golf instruction and simulator experience are top-notch.

Simulator Tech You Can’t Miss

These aren’t just any golf simulators. The club will feature eight Golfzon TwoVision simulators, known for their high-speed cameras and incredible graphics that make you feel as if you’re really on a golf course. The simulators can move up to 24 different directions, ensuring a real golf course experience without dealing with the elements. Automatic ball retrieval? Yes, please!

A Touch of History

The Tramor Cafeteria, a historic gem built in 1929, was the go-to spot decades ago and is known for its stunning Mediterranean Revival-style architecture. While it went through various names and uses over the years, including being a cafeteria and a vibrant beer hall, it’s been vacant since the Hofbrauhaus closed its doors in 2020. That space is now set to come back to life in spectacular fashion!

Building the Future

The architectural design will be in the hands of Clearwater-based Robert P. Resch, III. His vision is to blend the historic charm of the building with a sleek, modern atmosphere for GolfSuites City Club. While this will be the first indoor golf lounge for the company, GolfSuites is already operating multiple outdoor driving range facilities across the country.

With plans for future locations, including casual indoor lounges in suburban areas, it seems like GolfSuites has big things in mind. As Jerry Ellenburg added, “We couldn’t be more excited to debut our brand right in our own backyard.”

So, What Are You Waiting For?

Mark your calendars for mid-2024! The GolfSuites City Club is set to open, and it promises a thrilling blend of golfing and dining. Keep an eye on their social media to stay updated on the grand opening and all the events that will come with it. St. Pete, get ready for a new, upscale hangout that’s sure to swing into your hearts!
